This is my solution to the problem of creating enough content for a maxi-site.
I am starting a new site for women, called 21CWoman.com. I am in the process of recruiting women writers from the InfoBarrel forum, whence most of my contacts come. Most of the women I have asked want to write about women’s issues. Concerns have been expressed about commitment, so all will be writing only as much as they want to, when they want to.
I will not put any ads onto the site for at least six months, and even then there will be very few.
Writers will be able to put their own affiliate and Amazon IDs in their own pages. This is the financial incentive they have to write. It means that those who write more earn more, and is totally fair all round.
21C Women will be written for women. If women like it, search engines will follow and advertisers will ask to put their ads on the site.
The days of “Written for Adsense” are dead. Adsense must not be the main focus of any article. That is why search results are so poor at the moment. Every Joe Soap and his dog are writing “articles” that are little more than poorly written paragraphs stuffed with keywords that attract high-paying Google ads.
I have other collaborative writing sites in the pipeline, including one about teaching…
Please contact me by commenting on this post if you might be interested in working on a teaching maxi-site with me.
